Port Harcourt Refinery Project – Expanding Service Offerings
The Port Harcourt Refinery rehabilitation project employs corrosion control technologies in the ongoing rehabilitation of the refinery. PREZICON Limited is working with Tecnimont on this project, focusing on extending the life of the refinery’s tanks and pipes through sandblasting and painting. This project highlights PREZICON Limited’s ability to expand its service offerings beyond offshore projects and into the onshore industrial sector.
Refinery Works – Tank and Piping Scope: Demonstrating Advanced Techniques
The tank rehabilitation scope specifically focuses on tank maintenance. It highlights two key aspects of PREZICON Limited’s capabilities:
- Deployment of Robots (See here) for Blasting Activities: This showcases PREZICON Limited’s adoption of advanced technologies to enhance safety and efficiency. Utilizing robotic systems called the Blastrac for blasting minimizes human exposure to hazardous materials and improves the consistency and quality of surface preparation.
- Scaffolding Activities: PREZICON also understands the importance of safe and efficient access to work areas. PREZICON Limited’s expertise in scaffolding erection and dismantling ensures safe working conditions for personnel and contributes to project timelines.
The piping scope involves intense corrosion control on the pipes within the refinery complex and stretches for miles to the refinery Jetty area. Corrosion works carried out include Blasting and painting of the pipes and also insulation works in some areas.
PREZICON has completed more than 11 tank rehabilitations involving blasting and painting works over the past 2 years, but also thousand of linear meters of piping. This project has seen the addition of new work scopes and more tanks and piping works, with a surface achieved till date of 150 000 m2.
